Ideology can be defined as this: "a system of ideas and ideals, especially one that forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy".
In today's society ideologies play a big part in our identity. They separate us into separate and different groups. Individual and collective based on our various beliefs, and what we value as a person and what we find important to us in our hearts. Ideologies also effect many other aspects such as culture, language, environment, gender, relationship to the land and race. One of the biggest ones though is language. Language is one way in which people communicate beliefs and values, worldview, cultural and societal understandings, and sense of self.
Our beliefs values and Culture in today's society is key, its the factor that makes us unique and diverse from anybody else living on this planet. Culture shapes all of us and our background that has been with us for such a long time. Wherever one might live or what language they speak will for sure influence ones identity. Overall i believe that ideologies play a big part in the foundation of identity.
