TO WHAT EXTENT SHOULD GLOBALIZATION SHAPE IDENTITY?
After finishing the four chapters of related issue #1, I have learned a lot about globalization. At first I didn't even know what it meant. After I learned more about globalization, I realized how it is important and how it shapes our identity so much. We also learned how globalization isn't always so positive but the opposite.
Now I will highlight some of the important aspects of the four chapters of Related issue #1.
Now I will highlight some of the important aspects of the four chapters of Related issue #1.
The meaning of Globalization and its four Forces
Globalization: The process by which the worlds citizens are becoming increasingly connected and interdependent.
The Four Forces of Globalization
-Trade: Natural resources, such as lumber and oil, or clothing, car parts, agricultural products, and stocks.
-Transportation: Container ships for hauling goods, airplanes for quick and easy travel.
-Communication Technology: Such as the world wide web.
-Media: Such as social media cites like twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.

The Lubicon Cree and there struggle to affirm their IDENTITY
Another important topic we covered was cultural revitalization is when a collective group takes actions to affirm their identity, like the Lubicon Cree who have been abused by the government and taken advantage of because of the oil in their land.
The BANANA wars
In many Central and South American Countries, banana production is largely controlled by big American transitional companies. But in Jamaica and St Lucia small family farms are also producing bananas as well. These small farms cannot achieve the same economies of scale as the other huge banana plantations. As a result there costs are higher to keep farming, and to make money they also must sell their bananas at a higher price than the bigger companies.
Overall I believe Globalization isn't a bad thing, but there is its downsides as well. We should never let it shape our identities so it changes us, i think we should always be cultural diversity and different languages in the world. Diversity is so important in our society that we should never want to let it go.
