What does faith means to me?
-WHAT DO I BELIEVE IN:
Ever since I was a little baby my parents would bring me along to church every Sunday. They taught me to pray every night before I would go to bed, and always say grace before I would eat. So yes I do believe there is a God up there looking out for us and caring for us every single day, I'm very grateful my parents brought me up in a Catholic home because I believe it has made me a caring and respectful individual. I'm also very grateful that my parents entered me into a catholic school at kindergarten and for the teachers that also helped to guide me into a Catholic way of living.

Points of Prayer
Definition of christian prayer: A request for help or of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship.
Five types of Prayer
-Adoration and Blessing:In this prayer we express praise and honor to God. We praise God for giving us life, for the wonder and beauty of our world, and for all the many blessings we enjoy.
-Petition:When we pray our petitions, we are asking God, who loves us very much, for something that we believe is good—for ourselves or for others.
-Intercession:This form of prayer is prayer on behalf of others. This form of prayer can be a source of blessing upon others, the Church, and our world.
-Thanksgiving:This form of prayer helps us to be grateful for God's many blessings, spiritual and temporal, and helps us to recognize and appreciate all the good things God gives to us.
-Praise:Many people consider prayers of praise to be the “highest” form of prayer. Why? A prayer of praise is all about God. We ask for nothing, we seek nothing, we focus on nothing but God himself.

Advent:
1.Advent wreath - what are the symbols and customs that go along with them.
During the season of Advent one candle on the wreath is lit each Sunday as a part of the Advent services. Each candle represents an aspect of the spiritual preparation for the coming of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Set on the branches of the wreath are four candles: three purple candles and one pink candle. In the center of the wreath sits a white candle.
2. What does Advent mean to the catholic church.
Christmas and Advent can be a spiritual feast for those who live these seasons spiritually. And where better to live them spiritually than in our own homes and households? This site's purpose is to help families and households celebrate Advent and Christmas in a Christian way.

How I keep a healthy lifestyle:
I believe everybody should be involved
in some sort of activity
Every little thing adds up to
to a healthy life
I think once and a while
its ok to eat a burger and some junk food
but we need to monitor it.
A positive attitude on life is a
big part of a healthy lifestyle.
If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges.
Pat Riley
I believe that having a positive attitude each and every day once you get out of bed, definitely adds to a healthy lifestyle. Personally i need to stop being so negative sometimes and look at life in an optimistic view point.

kind of sums it up
-Healthy Relationships
-Dealing with stress: Very beneficial part of the program, everyday stress is a part of everyones lives. It could come from lots of home work, tests (exams). We also learned how to deal with these types of stress in a variety of different ways. For example do something that you love to do, exercise always help to clear you mind, for me if i have a lot on my mind hockey is the best stress reliever for me.
-Stereotypes affected how a person is being treated by others: Of course there's always the fact of stereotypes in our society thats a given, this topic doesn't affect me as a individual person. I could see how it could really affect others in our society.
-Impacts on shaping your views of relationships: Movies play it up as if its really easy to get the girl you've always wanted this is not the case, also media takes a big part in this as well. A positive is you see happy couples all over, this is realty not a movie.
-Healthy relationships: This part really showed me that what a relationship really was and what to expect for a serious future with someone in my later years. Its not really beneficial right know in my age, but if i was to get a girlfriend i would know what to look for.
-Active living skills: Personally for me i love to be active, throughout my life I've tried to be active and doing things. From soccer, to volleyball, and hockey, baseball and many others. In the future i'm going to try and keep a active lifestyle, to keep my body healthy.
-Abusive Relationships: I knew this was a problem in our society, and i was aware of it. But i was not aware of how much it is happening in our community. This part of the program taught me if i'am aware of a abusive relationship tell someone.
-Supporting Friends & Relationship Responsibilities: This is a great skill to have throughout your whole life to be understanding and caring towards other people when in need, if your friend ever needs to talk about something to you, for example there dying grandpa or anything like that, just be there for them and support them because who knows maybe it will be you that needs to talk to someone about a issue in your life. Same goes if you are in a relationship.
-Communication: This topic in my opinion is the most important aspect for someone to succeed in life's struggles than anything else. In our daily existence we use communication constantly for anything we do. This is why people have to develop good social skills if they really want to succeed on a social stand point.
-How to cope: We learned many different strategies on how to cope on your worst days, like forgetting about all your negative thoughts and doing something you love, Exercise when you move and burn calories, your body releases endorphin's (a natural stress reliever). I thought this was important to know if you were ever in this situation.
-Peer Pressure / Refusal Skills - delay, refuse, and negotiate: These three tactics are important in any situation you come across, for example someone offers you drugs, your boss asks you to do unsafe work, etc. This is important to me to know that i have ways of dealing with these types of situations.
-Healthy Relationships: This topic kind of wrapped the program up,when you meet people try and develop healthy relationships and bonds with them so they remember you as the nice guy and the one that will always be there for you if you need a helping hand.

My FAVORITE Topic
This was very hard for me to decide there was so many beneficial topics during the 11 weeks, for me as a individual person the one that really stood out to me was Active Living Skills and how important it is. Others might not think the same way but i believe it is so important to keep doing things as you get older in age to further prevent many things, obesity, diabetes, and many other things. It could be simple things you could do every day to keep active like go for a thirty minute walk, or join a rec hockey team or go to the gym. There is so many possibilities to keep active, the problem is that people need the ambition to get off the couch and do these things, and for many people this is hard to do. In the future i want to continue to be active and take part in what i love to do.
My idea of a HEALTHY relationship
When i hear the two words Healthy Relationship, and i'm no expert but i think the two people first have to be attracted to each other. They have to be understanding and caring towards each other, have to be committed to there partner and willing to go through hard times and still understand that they love each other. Honesty is the biggest thing don't hide things just tell them to your partner, and let them know if your going somewhere or doing something so they aren't worrying about where you went. That's pretty much it in my eyes.
