Throughout this chapter we looked at many issues that present challenges to liberalism today. We looked at the ways government has restricted important individual and collective rights of many people. From balancing civil liberties in the need for public security through laws such as the War Measures act, Emergencies act, and the Anti Terrorism act. Which brings us to our next challenge, we explored how terrorism had quickly made the world into an unsafe place. From the horrible attacks on Sept 11 2001, to the everyday violent acts we see on the news.
We also looked into worldwide issues such as poverty and debt in North America and worldwide. Also the environment, resource use and development, and health crises and pandemics create situations in which people might want to on the place limitations on the values and practices of liberalism.

Despite all of these challenges and critiques, liberalism has existed for a considerable amount of time, and many assume it will continue to. Perhaps what has allowed it to remain viable and practical is its flexibility and ability to adapt to different situations, as I talked about in the previous paragraph. When Liberalism fails, changes are made, oppositions are formed and a new form of Liberalism is usually formed.
